Behind The Scenes – The Making Of The New Shayzon.com Pt.1
Well here we go again!
It’s definitely important to keep things fresh and up to speed in your business as you grow. Hence the need for a new look over on shayzon.com!
I’m so blessed to have an amazing creative team that I have worked with for years. They GET ME and my crazy ideas and they always execute my vision with such excellence. I call them My Michaels. 🙂 Meet Michael-Rene (my hubby and creative partner) and Michael Reese (my photographer).
As I planned the shoot looks and the rundown for the day, my little girl London came to me and asked if I could choose her to be my assistant for this shoot. I thought it was the sweetest thing as I listened to her and as I looked over at her, I realized that she was really serious and also ready to present me with her proposal, which included her fee. lol. 🙂
When I saw how well thought out this was and how much time and thought she put into it, of course I had to say YES! So, this was my baby girls first job, as my assistant! I have to tell you, she blew me away with how thorough and attentive she naturally was at this job! She paid attention to my hair, my clothes, my makeup and made sure that I was hydrated for the entire shoot AND she made sure everything for the shoot was neat and organized. Her work ethics are quite impressive, especially for a 12yr old.
I’M SUCH A PROUD MAMMA!!
My mind doesn’t stop! I always want to know that what ever I put forth is my best. Whatever my best is at that point and time. 🙂 I had a really great time pulling my looks together to be a true reflection of myself and what CHICified represents. I checked out thrift stores and resale stores during the shopping days and I found this hot pink vintage piece in a small vintage shop in Atlanta and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the winner! I paired it with navy blue suede pumps and Viola, the cover look was born!
In my planning, I wanted to use this perfect opportunity to be the example of RESALE CHIC for the face of the website. A seamless, doable and stunning mix of vintage and labels. I didn’t have to break the bank on clothes for this shoot at all.
This dress was less than $60! YAY!
Now that’s what I’m talking about! 😉
** Tip: Always check the details, construction and hardware on everything when you’re buying any type of resale garments.**
Shoes are Christian Louboutin.
Funny story about these sexy pumps coming up soon on the blog!
Note From The Editor:
It’s important to plan the details for a shoot, down to the time on each look and/or location ahead of time. This is definitely a situation where the saying “Time is Money” truly applies. As the shoot goes along, of course it’s important to go with the flow and energy that’s happening. Some of the unexpected shots can turn out to be the winning shot, trust me!
Reminder: Plan your budget, make a run of day schedule, don’t loose track of time, everyone is on the clock including you. 🙂 Otherwise you’ll blow your budget with overtime costs and who wants that at the end of an amazing shoot. 🙂
