Meet SHAYZON!
Born from bold choices and a relentless pursuit of self, SHAYZON is not a trend, or just a brand — she is a movement.
Self-taught Fashion Designer and Sewist. Style & Beauty Expert. TV Personality, Host, and On-Air Contributor. Ethical Fashion Advocate. Every title earned. Every role intentional.
At 40, she made the defining move — retiring from a celebrated career as a celebrity hair and makeup artist to architect an entirely new one from the ground up. No blueprint. No safety net. Just vision, courage, and an unshakeable belief that reinvention is not only possible, it is powerful. Today, SHAYZON stands as a testament to what happens when a woman bets on herself — and wins.
Her aesthetic is as deliberate as her journey. Rooted in culture, ethical fashion, and fueled by a fearless and vibrant personal style, SHAYZON brings more than design to the table — she brings a point of view. One that challenges industry norms, champions conscious creativity, and reminds the world that fashion, at its finest, is deeply personal.
But behind her emerging collection, every camera appearance, and every carefully constructed look, are the roles that anchor her most. She is a proud and devoted mother to her son Arlington and daughter London — and yes, she did in fact marry a Prince. Michael-René Prince, that is. These are the titles she wears with the most pride.
Because a movement needs a foundation — and SHAYZON’s is built on love, legacy, and the audacity to begin again.
Get to Know More About Me
What are you currently working on?
A mini collection in progress — and I am so grateful to finally be here!
Right now, I am deep in the making of my very first mini collection — and honestly, I have to pinch myself. This is something I have dreamed about for so long, and the fact that I am actually living it is not something I take lightly for even a single second.
Most people see the finished piece on a hanger. What I get to experience is everything before it — the concept, the sketches, the pattern drafting, the muslins, the sample making, the fittings, every decision made by hand. Doing it all independently, wearing every hat from designer to seamstress to creative director, is something I genuinely cherish. It is all mine, and that means everything to me.
And yes — bringing a collection to life comes with real costs. Fabrics, notions, equipment, software, education — it adds up. I am proudly funding every bit of it on my own, bit by bit, and though it makes for a slower process to market, I would not have it any other way. UNLESS, someone wanted to fund me! lol.
Every bit of time and investment I make into this collection is a declaration that I believe in this dream. That kind of ownership, earned piece by piece, feels incredible.
“It is still becoming — and that is exactly where the magic lives.”
Where are you from?
I was born in the parish of Mandeville, Manchester, on the beautiful island of Jamaica.
What are some of the highlights of your career so far?

What is the name of the TV show you starred in?
I starred in the hit BRAVO show Mother Funders. Following a passionate Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) board in the small town with 7 moms and 7 very different personalities. Despite or in addition to the differences and outbursts and tantrums from some, our PTO ran like a corporation. We threw lavish fundraising events on a mission to provide for the kids at our school and in the community. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, it definitely wasn’t, and it was all caught on camera.
How long have you been working in this industry?
I’ve been in the fashion and beauty industry for over 20 years.
Having my work seen daily on major networks like CNN, ABC, Hallmark, E!, etc. are realities that surpassed my dreams. Seeing my artistry gracing the covers and pages of international and national publications and adorning the faces of celebrities, anchors, politicians, TV hosts, models, brides, and royalty are achievements and highlights that make this career and journey memorable, cherished, and priceless.
What is Consciously CHIC?
“Sustainable Fashion” is a term describing efforts within the fashion industry to reduce environmental impacts, protect workers producing garments, and uphold animal welfare.
Chic is fashionable, stylish, elegant, debonair, and fashion-forward.
CONSCIOUSLY CHIC is the seamless fusion of both.
Shopping your own wardrobe, shopping at resale stores, thrift shops, vintage shops, swaps, and estate sales are great ways of being more sustainable and conscious about fashion.
CONSCIOUSLY CHIC, a brilliant formula for:
- Being chic on any budget.
- Curating your uncompromised and unique style.
- Never having to break the bank for style.
- Never neglecting or stifling your individuality to follow “rules and labels.”
- Supporting the environment by extending the life and story of each unique piece you buy.
- Reducing the numbers of garments that end up in the landfills on a daily basis.
- Reducing the demand for fast fashion and their overwhelmingly unethical manufacturing practices.
When did your love for fashion and beauty begin?
Before I had the words for it, I already knew.
According to my mom, I came into this world with a creative and stylish soul already fully intact. By the age of two, I was expressing an innate love for fashion — long before I had any idea that “fashion” was even a thing.
From day one, I was immersed in a vibrant world full of color, texture, and beauty. That environment didn’t just surround me — it shaped me. It planted something deep that has never stopped growing: a genuine passion for living a fashionable, rich, and beautiful life in every sense of those words.
For me, fashion has never been about trends or keeping up. It has always been a language — one I have been fluent in since before I could speak. It is how I see the world, how I move through it, and now, finally, how I am creating within it.
