🧵 My 3 Piece Zoot Suit, w/ a little Shayzon twist!😉 Designed and made with lots of love, seam ripping, realigning, pin pokes, patience, and determination!😂 I love the styling versatility! #memadeeveryday ‼️THE ZOOT SUIT was popularized in Harlem in the 1920s and 1930s, originating in the black comedy shows and later by the Jazz and Blues singers. As this bold and empowering style became more popular, it was later adopted by other groups, including Mexican Americans, Filipinos, and Japanese Americans. ‼️I'm always drawn to vibrant statement fabrics with beautiful colors, prints, and patterns. They require ALOT of detailed attention during the entire cutting and constructing process, especially for it to be executed well. I'm always learning SO much with every creation, INCLUDING a massive dose patience and appreciation for the time and cost invested in well constructed garments, both vintage and current. ❣️Check out the previous BTS reel to see the construction process.😘 . . . . Seeing and experiencing a community filled with amazing and eclectic souls coming together to fundraise, connect, meet, talk, laugh, eat, and support the rebuilding of the historic Altadena, one of the devastated neighborhoods from the LA fires. 🌺 Aurora James @aurorajames spearheaded, organized, and executed this incredible 2-day Block Party and Fundraiser with Paramount Pictures through her @15percentpledge organization. She has a heart for uplifting people, community, businesses, and causes that truly make a difference. 🌺 I found a stoop with hubby, after walking around and checking out all the independently owned companies that were there. I people watched, took in all the beautiful faces, had spirited conversations with strangers, met and laughed with so many new people, and loved every bit of it.
