Alicia Keys And Her Unapologetic Embrace With Her Natural Beauty!
During an interview with David Denicolo for Allure magazine, Alicia Keys spoke carefully and candidly about her music, motherhood, her political activism and her stand on not wearing makeup. Though for this shoot Alicia chose to wear eye makeup, you can clearly see that with or without makeup she is undeniably beautiful.
It’s a beautiful thing when a woman finds her power and that power is in her space of truth and freedom.
During her interview it was clear that she knows exactly who she is and embraces every moment of it. She confidently stated to David, “I’m not a slave to make up. I’m not a slave to not wearing makeup either. I get to choose at any given moment. That’s my right.” She later went on to say, “as an activist, I will continue to fight for what is right.” During this very transparent and empowering interview, Alicia Keys spoke more in debt on this past year in her life and what this time has truly meant to her. “This time has been more of an evolution, a process of self-realization.” Her decision to not wear makeup was not an anti-makeup move at all and it definitely wasn’t intended to be a “Radical Act.” Alicia Keys shared an important view with David, “I think makeup can be self-expression, I have no intentions to shame anyone at all who chooses to wear it. No one should be ashamed by the way you choose to express yourself. And that’s exactly the point. However, if you want to do that for yourself you should do that.”
